Early Finishers for Upper Elementary Classrooms

Teachers hate hearing the dreaded statement, “I’m done. What do I do now?” While it is great some students can work ahead, this is not the case for most students. Therefore, it is not time to move to the next lesson. However, teachers cannot just tell fast finishers to help others or sit and relax. They deserve to have activities ready that allows them to remain engaged and keep learning new material. There are early finisher activities for upper elementary students ready to go! All students can learn at the most appropriate rate.

180 Fun, Critical Thinking Questions

When students finish early, there may not be much time left. However, extended learning doesn’t always need a significant amount of time! That is why these 180 daily questions and writing prompts are perfect! There is even a calendar page to track progress to ensure you don’t miss a question. Best of all, this resource is the perfect way to have early finisher activities for upper elementary ready for the entire year!

While this is an excellent activity for fast finishers, the questions work great for morning meetings, conversation starters, and brain breaks. Students will look forward to these questions each day!

Editable Vocabulary Templates for Early Finisher Activities

This is an amazing way to extend learning for ANY unit! Best of all, students will have so much fun while learning vocabulary on a deeper level. To do this, they will design and illustrate an app for each term. Thus, they have a visual that they can reference when reviewing concepts or learning words for a new unit. This is a great way to ingrain a concept into the student’s mind.

This is a perfect early-finisher activity! For instance, students in 5th grade and 6th grade can create visuals for tough units. Then, the “Smartphones” can go on a ring to review throughout the year. Or, the apps can hang on the wall for all students to explore! There are even larger apps for younger students!

Digital, Interactive Notebooks for ANY Subject

Digital notebooks are an incredible tool to use to support student learning. However, they can take a lot of time to prepare. That will no longer be the problem with this resource!

Specifically, it includes 18 formats for the layout to help draw students in. Several topics are ready, such as ELA/Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Math. There are clickable tabs to customize each notebook and 9 interactive notebook resources.  Ultimately, there are over 200 editable template notebook pages! Everything is easy for teachers to edit! This means you can add this to your toolbox of early finisher activities. Students will love the colorful and organized layout of their new notebooks!

Guided Meditation for Early Finisher Activities

Early finisher activities for upper elementary can focus on something other than academics. Honestly, school can be overwhelming for students of all learning levels.
